Mary Lou Pape

Mary Lou Pape's passion for art started at a young age, drawing horses as her favorite subject. Spending time on her grandparents' farm allowed her to appreciate animals and the western way of life. After living in Colorado for many years, she incorporated North American wildlife into her artwork. Mary Lou recently moved back to her home state of Kansas and is enjoying discovering new inspiration. To capture subjects in their natural surroundings, she frequently travels to experience and photograph them. With a close-up view and dramatic light, she focuses on the details in her oil, pastel, and pencil works. Mary Lou attended Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, as a Fine Art major. Her art has been awarded Best in Show and People's Choice, and her collectors span throughout the US.
