Robert McFarland

Robert McFarland's journey into the art world began in 1987 when his wife gifted him a beginning watercolor class. He fell in love with the medium and began studying the works of Philip Jamison, Andrew Wyeth, and Thomas William Jones. McFarland has a deep passion for watercolor, appreciating its limitations that, when utilized correctly, bring out its strengths, such as transparency that adds air and light to a painting, unpredictability that injects spirit, and its unforgiving nature that elicits true emotional responses. He has exhibited his work in many renowned venues, including Small Works Great Wonders at the National Cowboy Heritage Museum, Cheyenne Frontier Days™ Western Art Show, Zions Bank Art Invitational, Sears Museum Dixie Invitational, Coors Western Art Show, and Settlers West American Miniatures.
